Hello - Welcome to GrantSlam Pro!
We're Hellie and Damia, and we're thrilled to introduce you to our dream project. GrantSlam Pro has been a labor of love, simmering and evolving over the years as we perfected our grant writing strategies and processes.
With a combined experience of over 20 years in grant writing, we've tackled everything from impactful community grants to substantial ARC grants and everything in between. As scientists who transitioned into science communication and writing, we're passionate about helping researchers secure the funding they deserve to advance their important work.
At GrantSlam Pro, we can't wait to connect with you and talk all things grants!

Ā DAMIA ETTAKADOUMI
Years ago, while studying for my Bachelor of Science, I noticed a gap in services for science and technology professionals. Science communicators were translating stories for the public, but skilled writers for researchers and peer funding providers were rare.
I filled this gap by working as a grant program coordinator, communication adviser, copywriter, and project manager. I furthered my expertise with a Master of Business Administration and courses from the Public Relations Institute of Australia.
In 2011, I launched Straight Up Science to work with innovative researchers and technologists.
Now, building on that foundation, Hellie and I are excited to bring you GrantSlam Pro.

HELLIE LYNCH
With a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Earth Science, I started as a resource geologist, where I first met Damia at a State Geological Survey.
Despite my love for the field (and a head full of rocks), I struggled with balancing exploration and conservation. So, I returned to university to study Environmental Science, focusing on Sustainable Cities.
This path led me into community development and, eventually, grant writing. The allure of science drew me back to science writing, and I reunited with Damia and her team, working on large proposals.
Together, we dreamed up GrantSlam Pro to share our expertise and help more researchers secure the grants they deserve.
